What Are Podiatrists?

Prolotherapy also known as proliferation therapy is an injection-based treatment used in acute/chronic musculoskeletal condition and connective tissue injuries such as Arthritis, Achilles Tendinitis and Plantar fasciitis.

Prolotherapy involves the injection of glucose and local anaesthetic into soft tissue to stimulate a healing response by increased release of pre-collagen growth factor (PGF).

This solution acts not as a nutrient, but by stimulating the body’s natural ability to repair these tissues, encouraging growth of new ligament or tendon fibers

Multiple treatments encourage additional tissue growth to restore and strengthen the affected area

The appointment duration will be approx. 30 minutes involving preparations, treatment and recovery. An individual will require 2-3 sessions spaced out 2-6 weeks apart.

WHAT IS EXPECTED?

Initially, mild but temporary swelling and stiffness may occur. It is normal to feel pain for the first few days. Improvements are usually notified after the first session. Research indicates a high success rate of prolotherapy to patients. After prolotherapy, you will be able to return to physical activities such as playing sport and work pain-free.

Conditions that may benefit from prolotherapy include:

– Knee/ankle arthritis
– Bunion Pain
– Achilles tendonitis
– Plantar fasciitis

Book today for a Prolotherapy treatment and return to a pain-free life.
